AX - Northwest Research

15 October 2017 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

RESCHEDULED! The October 1 autocross weather was a bust, but fortunately we were able to secure the venue for the 15th.

Sponsored by Porsche Salt Lake. Thanks!

Set up time at 8 am
Registration at 8:30 to 9:30am
Drivers Meeting at 9:55am
1st car out at 10am

Cost: Free to 1st time club members in their Porsche, $30 for PCA members, $35 for non-PCA members.

We provide an instructor to new drivers. Only one car is on the course at a time. We have helmets available. This is a great time to give autocross (AX) a first try, to see if you want to get more involved in 2017. And no matter what, you'll discover more about the capabilities of your car, while improving your skills as a driver!

This larger than average venue allows for lots of fun course layouts and a bit more pace through all the marker cones.

*Early and late in the season, AX chair has the option to start one hour later due to temperatures and/or daylight not conducive to setting up the course. *Times listed are not set in stone, but are used as a guideline.

I just moved to area so new to this chapter of PCA. Do I need to register ahead of time? If so, whom do I contact? Final question--I will need to leave for another commitment at noon--how many runs will I likely get in between 10 and 12?

    Howard,

Welcome to the area. No, you do not need to register ahead of time. Simply show up, and remember to bring your PCA membership card. Driver sign-in is usually about 9:00AM and first car out about 10:00 but can vary slightly with weather and how many volunteers show for setup. The number of runs you get depends on the number of people that come out to run. Worst case from 10-12 would be 2 runs. That said, the Northwest Research course is relatively short allowing for more runs. Also, I heard there were very few cars at our last AutoX and everyone got 5 runs per session. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
